Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play. It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfulness, disregard of all rules and sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence. In other words, it is war minus the shooting.

-Martin Luther King Jr.
let me know how john stewarts book is...did he write it or is he jus endorsing it? i know he is a democrat from one of the most liberal schools on the east coast (william and mary), so i didnt know if this book would be biast towards republicans.

I'm about to read Ball Four by Jim Bouton, then i'm gonna go back and read the Chronicles of Narnia again....
I saw where they're coming out w/ the movie for The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and realized it's time to go back and read 'em again
I have been meaning to read ball four for the past 3 years. Was one of the most contraversal books of it time. Supposed to talk about how guys cheated on their wives, drank alot, drugs, etc in the majors.
I just dont know how accurate it will be considerin this book was written in what 78? I saw at the mall today he had another book called "foul ball".
